Franziska Hirsch Dresden Hand Painted Floral & Gold 7 7/8 Inch Vase C. 1908 - 30
Beautiful porcelain vase in a traditional form. Nicely decorated with hand painted large flowers and small scattered flowers in purple, yellow, pink, blue, orange, and white. With a ring of large and small flowers right below the neck in pink, white, blue, purple, orange and yellow. With gold gilding along the rim, gold gilt scrollwork designs below the rim, and gold gilding around the base. Has a black flower on the base obscuring the original manufacturer's mark. Typical of Dresden decorated porcelain, this obscures the original manufacturer's mark. This can be seen if held up to a bright light. The manufacturer's mark a Thomas Bavaria mark used between 1908 and 1939. Also marked on the bottom in blue with a winged H over Dresden. This mark was used by Franziska Hirsch in Dresden, Germany between 1901 and 1930.
Has some wear to the gilding and a small gilded over in manufacture chip to the rim. Otherwise good condition with no post manufacture chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 6 inches wide x 7 7/8 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
