DURST Laborator 138-Color - 5x7 Enlarger.I've owned this DURST since the late '70's. Even though it's old, it works extremely well. Durst enlargers are known for their heavy-duty parts; once you have this enlarger locked down after focusing there is almost no need to check the focus, but please do so anyway. The components on this enlarger are super heavy duty, but it glides up and down with only a twist of one round knob on the column, as seen in the 9th and 12th photos.
I have most of the accessories that DURST made, including: Latico Condensers 2 ea. 240 , 1 ea. 160, 1 ea. 130 , which, in various combinations, will accommodate formats from 5x7 to 35mm.
Negative carriers: 1 ea. NEGA 138 optical glass, with 1 ea. GLAS AN (anti-Newton ring glass), and 1 ea. non-glass carrier, with several two-part frames to accommodate various film sizes. I also have a copy of the instruction manual.
This enlarger also comes with a Gralab 500 Digital Timer, with a foot switch. Sorry, no photos.
There is a filter drawer for 6x6 printing filters (Ilford multi-grade or color) as seen in the 9th photo.
This is the original bellows. Due to its age, it does have light leaks. When fully extended - as noted in the 11th photo - these light leaks are numerous. You would never be using the bellows in this position unless you were printing serious reductions. Since I never used this bellows in that extended position, I have not done anything about the leaks. The normal position for most printing when the bellows as noted in the 10th photo is only slightly extended. In my 44 years of using this bellows the few light leaks present have never been an issue.
Should you want to replace this bellows I found one on EBay - Original Bellow for Durst enlarger 138 EX++.
This Durst enlarger stands on the floor and is big and heavy, it will be necessary to take apart for transport and then put back together. Because of this the enlarger is being sold locally. The Zip Code is 70808, Baton Rouge, LA.
Most importantly, this is not an enlarger for a beginner.
